Position Status :Full Time / 1.0 FTE (40 hours / week)

Summary of Work:
Cass Human Service Zone partners with the Department of Health and Human Services to deliver exceptional Economic Assistance programs to our community.
The Lead Eligibility Worker provides expert policy, processing, and training support to our Economic Assistance team.
Lead Eligibility Workers are expected to have expertise in all areas of each Economic Assistance programs. Economic Assistance programs include Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance. Assistance Programs.
Lead Eligibility Worker Example of Duties:• Mentoring and providing case review for new and current team members• Assist with onboarding new team members• Ability to assess the needs and lead the training of new and existing agency team members• Professionally represent the agency• Demonstrate proficiency in technical knowledge, departmental processes, caseload management• Exercise skills in establishing a positive and trusting relationship with clients and team members
To succeed in this position , you should have an expert knowledge of Economic Assistance programs and policies.
An ideal candidate for this position will be organized, able to be an independent worker, and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
You will have an eye for detail and problem-solving, able to manage your time and priorities effectively and pride yourself on excellent communication skills, empathy, and being a role-model for others.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position , you must have a high school degree or GED,
PLUS
- one (1) of the following:
Completion the Eligibility Worker Associate Degree offered at Bismarck State College or formerly offered at Lake Region State College,
and
one (1) year of experience as an Eligibility Worker ICompletion of the Eligibility Worker Certificate program offered at Bismarck State College or formerly offered at Lake Region State College
and
two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Worker ICompletion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program
and
two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Worker IThree (3) years of work experience in the clerical, accounting, financial, legal, or teaching fields
and
two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Worker IThree (3) years of any combination of the education and experience listed above
and
two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Worker I
