Overview
The primary purpose of the Pharmacy Technician position is to perform a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose medication distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, prepare intravenous medication including, but not limited to, chemotherapy, and hyper-alimentations, fill automated medication dispensing system with unit dose medications, procure, and fill requests for pharmaceutical supplies and deliver supplies. Responsible for assisting the Senior Buyer in ordering, managing, and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. National Pharmacy Technician Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) required or must be obtained within one (1) year of date of hire. Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy.
Credential required:
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB); Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of NJ

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position requires talking, hearing and use of hands and fingers to handle and reach, standing and walking over 2/3 of the time. Position requires lifting 2/3 of the time. Close and color vision required.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Position requires exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time. Moderate noise environment in office setting.
