We are seeking an Investment Risk Officer to join our dedicated and high-performing team. As an Investment Risk Officer, you will collaborate with other members of the Investment Team on portfolio construction, rebalancing, monitoring investment managers, and risk management. The Investment Risk Officer works with the Chief Risk Officer in evaluating and measuring risk for the investment portfolios as well as current and candidate investment managers.

Summary of Work

  • Review asset allocation, investment strategy and investment manager line-up for exposure to risks, risk measurement and performance impact. Participate with Investment Team to recommend portfolio changes.
  • Participate in due diligence assessments of existing and prospective investment managers. Maintain appropriate risk assessments and implementations of such interactions.
  • Conduct ad hoc research that is useful for exploring emerging risks in the portfolios.
  • Prepare a variety of written, quantitative, and financial reports/analyses to support the management of the SIB’s investment program. This work includes producing analyses and reports for Client Boards and the SIB.
  • Monitor investment managers for adherence with established parameters including position size, investment exposures, returns and risk.
  • Develop quantitative models/analytics to enhance the investment process.
  • Create and maintain databases, reports, and other materials related to investments, compliance, and risk management.
  • Evaluate compliance of the existing manager’s underlying investment portfolios.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, engineering or a related field (e.g. accounting, business administration, economics, finance) and three years of professional experience working in an investment or risk related role. Experience must have included the following: Computer languages (C++, Visual Basic, Python), Statistics, Stochastic Calculus, Time Series, and Financial Modeling.

A Master’s degree in one of the above fields may substitute for two years of the experience requirement.
