This role requires a dynamic, energetic, and highly motivated individual who can join the team as a leader for the Company's joint ventures and commingled funds. As a Manager, Fund Accounting, reporting to the Senior Manager, Fund Accounting, you will be working collaboratively with many constituents across the organization. The successful candidate will bring with them a strong understanding of finance, operations, and accounting. In addition, as a leader, you will possess a passion for our company culture and a desire to grow alongside our organization.Provide leadership and mentorship to senior accountantsOversee preparation of quarterly financial statements and reporting for private investorsOversee the monthly close and joint venture consolidation process and review monthly reportsAssist with the fund and joint venture annual audit process including responding to audit inquiries, manage auditor and team member timelines, and ensure delivery of requested documentsOversee preparation of annual tax documentation for private investorsReview limited partner funding calls and distributions including incentive fee calculationsImprove and automate workbooks to enhance accuracy of financial reportingReview and approve journal entriesImplement system and process improvementsEnforce proper internal controlsCollaborate with investment team, developers, equity partners, lenders, and other external partiesWork with management on special projects, as requiredQualifications:University degree in Finance, Commerce (or relevant field) and CPA certified4+ years of manager and/or leadership experienceExperience in private equity, funds management or financial services preferredExperience with consolidation and elimination entriesExperience with incentive and waterfall calculationsThorough knowledge of US GAAP and financial reportingDemonstrates strong attention to detail and adheres to high standards for work qualityExcellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with good work ethic and willingness to learnAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially ExcelKnowledge of Yardi and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV an assetResidential real estate experience preferredExperience in SOX environment would be an assetAt Tricon Residential, we know that the best ideas happen when people bring their uniqueness to work with them.
