District Field Services Director/ Member Contact & Engagement Coordinator

Company: Support timely and effective communications between county Farm Bureaus and their members. Serve as the key liaison between a selected group of county Farm Bureau organizations and the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation and all affiliated corporations. Promotes membership and benefits. PRIMARY DUTIES Serves as a resource to county Farm Bureaus with questions and concerns about communications to their respective memberships. Serves as a point of contact for use of One Call Now system and for county Farm Bureaus that request information on its use. Provides input and assistance as requested in the event that urgent communication to county Farm Bureaus becomes necessary. Provides input as requested regarding effective distribution of federation information to county Farm Bureaus and/or large groups of members. Takes part in regular meetings of district field services directors and Communications Department staff, and shares relevant information and concerns between the two groups. Serves as a resource to Communications staff working on projects relevant to county Farm Bureaus. Helps identify contacts for member magazine and Real Virginia TV show content. Works with designated Governmental Relations staff to: Set timeline for regional policy development meetings and related deadlines and contribute to planning of topic presentations. Facilitate communications with county Farm Bureau presidents and district field services directors regarding meeting dates and deadlines. Facilitate discussions between stakeholders if changes to meeting location or timing need to occur. Help ensure that DFSDs provide appropriate documentation to follow up on billing county Farm Bureaus and recording county leader attendance. Confer with DFSDs to evaluate current-year meetings and make recommendations for changes that might better engage Farm Bureau leaders next year. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Assists county Farm Bureaus in membership acquisition and maintenance. Ensures compliance of the County-State Memorandum of Agreement within the district and coordinates revisions as necessary. Assists county Farm Bureaus with implementing policies and programs. Collaborates with Field Operations, Sales, and local county boards on initiatives to improve county office relationships. Mediates and resolves disputes between insurance company and county boards in assigned area. Regularly attends county board meetings, conferences, and conventions. Promptly delivers accurate information requests for assistance/member action to county Farm Bureau organizations, leaders, and staff. Counsels county Farm Bureaus in effective administration and supervises their recordkeeping systems. Serves as a field representative for all economic and marketing service programs. Provides and/or coordinates training for county leadership and county office staff. Coordinates insurance activities and issues with Regional Sales Managers, Field Operations Managers, and Agency Managers. Ensures county office staff adheres to best office management practices. Ensures operational needs of county offices are met regarding repairs, equipment, supplies, and grounds. Assists county Farm Bureaus in planning activities relating to local issues. Works closely with the Women’s Leadership and Young Farmers’ committees to support program goals. Conducts training to enhance leadership abilities of Farm Bureau volunteers. Develops and takes action to achieve individual district goals. Serves on committees as needed. All other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Communications. MINIMUM EDUCATION and SKILL QUALIFICATIONS College degree or equivalent work experience. High level of initiative. Effective verbal and written communications. High degree of organization. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Technically proficient. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Agricultural Economics or Political Science. Farming/Agriculture background.
