We are seeking Software Engineers to join our team and help us continue building world-class web ecosystem solutions in React as we design, implement, and manage a new SPAN web ecosystem. Our web application is key to unlocking the full potential of SPAN products for our support, Product, developers, QA in providing them with meaningful insights, visualization tools, and a powerful debugging tool. You'll work with cross-functionally with mobile, cloud, device software, product, support and QA.ResponsibilitiesCommit to code craftsmanship, cutting-edge tooling, monitoring, and TDD.Design, implement, and test features using TypeScript and React.Collaborate on making technical decisions for SPAN's frontend architecture and also reusable architecture across frontend and mobile apps.Work closely with product and design teams on SPAN's product and execution strategy.Share knowledge within the team through pair programming, code reviews, presentations, example code, and documentation.Partner with firmware, mobile, and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration with our hardware products.Collaborate with QA and Platform Infrastructure teams to drive an efficient and robust quality system, ensuring speedy and reliable deployments.As SPAN is a startup, this list is neither exhaustive nor complete. Turn technical challenges into reusable and scalable solutions, leading their implementation.Work on both internal- vs. external-facing toolsCollaborate with other tech leads on a full-stack data communication refactor to help us scale to millions of homes.Work with product and the frontend team to iteratively deliver value predictably on multi-year projects.About YouRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience building and shipping user-facing applications for large audiences.2+ years of experience in React development.Strong experience with TypeScript.Unshakable practices in Test Driven Development.Experience collaborating on design systems.Outcomes-oriented communication and collaboration skills.Bonus QualificationsExperience in the energy industry.Experience working with IoT devices.Experience with Next.js (App Router)Knowledge of gRPC, protobuf, GraphQL.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.Experience managing packages and working with symlinks.
The U.S. base salary range for this position is $110,300- $170,000 plus benefits, equity, and variable compensation for Sales-related roles. This range represents SPAN's good faith estimate of competitively-priced salary for the role based on national, real-time industry data from companies of a similar growth stage. This range reflects minimum and maximum new hire salaries for the role across US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and individual factors including relevant skills, experience and education or training. This range correlates to the relative level of the candidate we believe we need for the role and may require an adjustment for candidates of a different level.
