An esteemed firm is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and competent individual eager for a full-time tax position, available in either our Raleigh or Charlotte locations. The successful candidate will join our dedicated tax department, catering to a diverse client base that includes individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, trusts, and a range of other entities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships. Engage with clients to collect necessary supporting documents. Diagnose tax issues and formulate resolutions. Offer innovative tax planning strategies and review complex income tax returns. Oversee tax team members to ensure accurate completion of tax returns. Stay abreast of tax law changes, informing management and the team, and devising strategies to leverage new tax legislation. Draft and review detailed technical tax memos. Liaise with tax authorities to address and resolve notices. Implement and maintain robust tax process control measures. Provide training and mentorship to team members on policies and procedures. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred). 5 to 8 years of experience in Public Accounting. Proficiency in preparing tax returns for individuals, closely held businesses, and pass-thru entities (S Corps and Partnerships). Exceptional project management, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills. Capability to juggle various projects, deadlines, and budgets effectively. Strong accounting, analytical, and research competencies with a keen interest in professional growth. Excellent ability to convey important information to partners, managers, and clients. A team player who is also willing to undertake administrative duties as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA License or in the process of obtaining one. Experience with QuickBooks. Familiarity with tax matters for high net-worth individuals and multi-state tax returns. Experience in preparing tax returns for exempt organizations.
