Data Engineer (Remote) at GovCIO in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Overview GovCIO is currently hiring for a Data Engineer to develop, inspect, mine, transform, and analyze data to create descriptive and predictive models that impact productivity, decision-making, and provide strategic mission impact. This position will be fully remote within the United States with core hours of operation from Monday to Friday 8AM to 5 PM ET. Responsibilities + Using data discovery and data visualization tools, interpret and present findings in a compelling and usable manner. + Develop, inspect, mine, transform, and analyze data to create descriptive and predictive models that impact productivity, decision-making, and provide strategic mission impact. + Understand Portfolio and VA Metrics and utilize related data to ensure metric objectives are being met + Apply data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis on data to create predictive and descriptive models + Create and manage Power BI reports and dashboards + Optimize database performance and ensure efficient storage and retrieval of data. + Monitor and manage data workflows to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency. + Perform data quality checks and implement data validation mechanisms. + Conduct data analysis including data visualization, statistical analysis, and data modeling. + Provide support for data-related issues and troubleshoot performance problems. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience + Master's Degree in a Business Discipline and 10 year of relevant experience. An additional 10 years of experience can be substituted for education + Power BI reports and administration. + Data analysis, data visualization, statistical analysis, and data modeling. + Strong system design, application programming, and 'clean code' skills + Strong design skills (includes ability to create diagrams and write design documentation independently). + Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals with varying technical skills. + Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile. + Demonstrated ability to execute in an agile environment, especially Scrum and/or Kanban.
