**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** ICU - Float to Medical-Surgical Telemetry and Emergency Department Holds
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-hour days, 4 total weekend shifts every 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years
**License:** Required
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS
**Must-Have:** - Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills - Proficiency with vasoactive drips - Independence and ability to work with minimal supervision - Strong Medical & Surgical ICU experience
**Job Description:**
- Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (exemptions apply based on specialty) - Maintain sterile field; competency in lifting, restraints, and wound care expected - Flexible to work with Med/Surg Tele patients, depending on patient upgrades or downgrades - Work in a unit with 5 beds - Handle patient ratios: 1 to 2 for ICU patients, 1 to 3 for Med/Surg patients, and 1 to 4 for telemetry if no ICU patients - Interpret EKGs - Manage common diagnoses including vasoactive drips, vent weaning, unstable CHF, sepsis, neuro-seizures, cardiac issues such as NSTEMI and Atrial Fib, pulmonary conditions, endocrine disorders, and overdoses - Perform critical care procedures such as bronchoscopy, central line insertion, intubations, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and more - Work with a hospitalist present during the day - Utilize the Cerner EMR system - Collaborate with a charge nurse and a shared tech - Participate in floor-specific orientation for 2 shifts - Wear navy scrubs - Float to Med/Surg or another unit as needed - Support from a 24/7 respiratory therapist and pharmacy services
