Job Description Summary As the Sr Staff Data Scientist, you will work in and lead teams as technical domain expert addressing statistical, machine learning and data understanding problems in a commercial technology and consultancy development environment. You will be part of a data science or cross-disciplinary team on commercially facing development projects, typically involving large, complex data sets. These teams typically include statisticians, computer scientists, software developers, engineers, product managers, and end users, working in concert with partners in GE business units. Potential application areas include large language models, computer vision, machine learning analysis aligned with strategic engagements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain pipelines for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Large Language Models (LLM). Ensure efficient data retrieval and augmentation processes to support LLM training and inference. Collaborate with data scientists to optimize RAG and LLM pipelines for performance and accuracy. Utilize semantic and ontology technologies to enhance data integration and retrieval.Ensure data is semantically enriched to support advanced analytics and machine learning models. Participate in Data Science Workouts to shape Data Science opportunities and identify opportunities to use data science to create customer value. Develop, verify, and validate analytics to address customer needs and opportunities. Work as part of a cross-functional team to translate algorithms into commercially viable products and services. Work in technical teams in development, deployment, and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics. Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods. Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes. Communicate methods, findings, and hypotheses with stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR associate degree with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Computer Science or "STEM" majors (Science, Technolgy, Engineering and Math) Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience Eligibility Requirement: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
