Overview:

The Group Sales Manager will Plan, solicit, book (contract) and coordinate small group meetings and room sales to meet/exceed revenue & profit goals. Responsibilities: Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow up, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, internet prospecting, etc.) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals. Plan, up-sell and coordinate function details with clients to include but not limited to space requirements, meeting times, equipment, menus, billing, etc. Prepare and execute sales/catering contracts, event orders, group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfactions. Create and distribute effective internal and external communication (written and verbal). Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends. Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts. Partner with National Sales Manager and National Sales Directors to increase awareness of Terranea within Key accounts and uncover new contacts within Key accounts with meeting potential. Maintain accurate, legible records and files consistent with established automated or manual sales system. Participate in training, trade shows, field trips and community, industry and professional organizations to maintain high visibility in support of the achievement of sales and revenue goals. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees as requested. Must possess the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and hotel guests. Ability to manage extensive amounts of information. Knowledge of sales procedures associated with the hotel industry. Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication. Excellent spoken and presentation skills. Considerable ability to listen effectively. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team. Experience, Education, & Licensure: Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience preferred. A minimum of one-year sales experience in a related position with this company or other another organization(s). Hotel sales experience preferred. The role of Group Sales Manager is primarily based on-site but offers the potential for a hybrid work arrangement. Associates have the opportunity to qualify for a hybrid role by consistently achieving established goals for a full quarter, showcasing high performance and embodying the role of a cultural ambassador. Those in a hybrid position are expected to be present in the office three days a week, at their own expense. The specific office days will be determined and approved by Senior Leadership. Failure to meet goals will result in the loss of hybrid status, requiring the associate to return to full-time on-site work. The Group Sales Manager role involves a commitment to flexibility, including willingness to work varying hours and weekends when required. A minimum of 25% travel is mandatory for sales calls, with expenses covered through our expense/travel program. In this role you will be required to be onsite for site tours, event management meet and greets, as well as leadership and department meetings. Management reserves the right at any time to change the hybrid work environment status. Compensation Base Pay Start Rate: $66,560 - $85,000/Yr. (based on experience) with a lucrative quarterly commission plan.
