because that is what they all are. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Program Director is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of all program-related activities. This includes leading and coaching staff, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, managing program budgets, guiding students through college applications, and supporting workforce development initiatives. The Program Director ensures the high-quality implementation of programs and maintains strong partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations. ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE:

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (Some weekends) Compensation:

$58,500 per annum ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversee the day-to-day management of the program. Lead and coach program staff. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principals, Parents, Contractors, and Funders. Work with the Job Developer to develop a portfolio of business partners and internship placement sites. Maintain high standards for the program, ensuring quality implementation and monitoring of program milestones/outcomes. Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate team members. Work with program staff to improve job performance through ongoing mentoring and coaching, and monthly staff development. Plan and implement program enrollment and orientation for participants. Provide oversight on the collection and analysis of program evaluation data. Maintain relationships with a network of schools, employer partners, and community-based organizations. In collaboration with the Deputy Director, oversee related budget issues. Guide families and scholars through the college application process, including SAT/ACT testing. Provide weekly office hours for families and scholars to ask questions and receive guidance. Plan and lead college visits. Guide students through the college application process, helping them identify and pursue appropriate post-secondary pathways. Complete clerical tasks associated with college counseling responsibilities. WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT:

Collaborate with the Job Developer to identify students’ career interests and develop tailored internship placements. Support in maintaining all paperwork associated with the internship placement process. Plan and execute career panels, fairs, and workshops in collaboration with other team members. Provide guidance to Worksite Monitors/Instructors on maximizing internship experiences. Implement and execute all aspects of the recruitment and enrollment process. Support the handling of sensitive and required documents for audit compliance. Engage students’ families, as needed, to support the completion of their internship. ADMINISTRATION:

Ensure compliance and maintain high-performing programs that meet contractual, regulatory, and agency standards. Ensure attendance tracking and reporting meets contractual requirements regarding enrollment and attendance. Respond to all electronic and phone communication within 2 business days. Coordinate and execute major events and activities. Communicate with NYCPS stakeholders and participate in meetings. Prepare monthly calendars of events, programs, meetings, and activities. Manage a budget plan that supports program needs and ensures timely spending. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Prior experience working with high school students and families and/or in the college admissions field. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members. Fast learner with the ability to inquire and be open to feedback. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. Unwaveringly high expectations for all students with the belief that every child should have access to a college education. WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work takes place in a NYC Public High School which may require climbing stairs. Travel via public transportation or car may be required throughout NYC. Ability to travel between the program site and other locations for meetings and professional development. Flexibility to work outside regular office hours for special programs and events. Typical job hours are 8 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday, and events will take place during occasional nights and weekends. Comfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
