The Lock Desk Specialist provides rate lock and other support to the loan origination staff. Will need to ensure that any rate lock request is executed in a timely manner and communicated back to the origination staff.
Responsibilities
Customer Service to clients on pricing questions/issues/scenarios for all loan productsInternal support for Operations/Sales for pricing issues and access OPP situationsLocking in an interest rate on a residential mortgage loan: Initial Lock, Lock Extensions, and Re-LocksReview and submit lock requests for specialty productsBroker access/logins to sales portal with FreedomManage Rate sheet distribution list for sales teamWork with spreadsheetsAbility to read reportsMaintain and update Price Class change requestsRectifying incentive-based programs through Secondary Marketing DepartmentCommunication with Secondary Marketing Department for price adjustments, off-sheet pricing exceptions and pricing renegotiationsOn-board training for new Account ExecutivesQualifications
5+ years of experience with lock desk functionality and mortgage experienceBachelor's degree in math, finance or related fieldExcellent analytical skillsAbility to research and resolve issues independentlyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with peers, senior leaders and the broker/dealer communityThe ability to discern the impact of the economy and the economic news has on mortgage markets and ratesAbility to read, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.Assesses and diffuses problem situations and requires influencing others to reach consensus. Requires tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customer relationships. Explores alternatives and creative solutions to meeting the needs of customers.Physical Demands & Working Conditions
