Job DescriptionThe Phlebotomist II performs a variety of tasks including blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.Responsibilities+ Include collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously, and demonstrating techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.+ The role requires understanding all physicians' orders, matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders.+ the Phlebotomist II checks all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy, packages specimens for transport, stores specimens at required temperatures, and places samples in appropriate containers.+ Additional duties include attending annual department trainings, answering telephone calls, and reading laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Qualifications+ High School Diploma and Valid Phlebotomy certificate in the state of Vermont.+ Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience as a practicing phlebotomist.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
