SUMMARY:This position is a full time Exempt (salary) position, supporting the JBLM-Mission Training Complex. The system administrator III provides business operations and human resource support for the JBLM simulations support team and servers within the JBLM campus and for the contract staff.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Provide information system analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications to support MTC exercises and events.Work independently in systems engineering and on-site integration /operation within an Army Mission Command environment for exercises and events at the MTC.Responsibilities include, but not limited to, installing software; information system end to end operational testing; installing, configuring interface to systems; providing subject matter expertise to modify and enhance SIM/STIM and Army Mission Command Systems.Provide design and analysis skills to facilitate the integration of Army Mission Command systems.Assist in translating mission requirements and information into solutions using simulation models/equipment, planning, scripting.Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot both Windows based and RHEL workstations and server class systems within the Mission Training Complex campus.Integrate Windows and Linux computer systems (servers and workstations).Provide input and support to the creation of training related products, along with AAR activities.Support equipment/facility setup and recovery operations at all MTC facilities in support of MTC events and exercises.

System management functions include installing software, managing user accounts, constructing communication files, conducting, and archiving backup files, recovery, maintaining the technical library, secure operation and storage of encryption devices, and tuning systems parameters for optimal functioning.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in a computer science or systems engineer discipline from an accredited institution desirable but waived with experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must have strong IT background (e.g., Windows, Linux) along with expertise in integration and testing process. * Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills are required. * Knowledge and understanding of IA (Information assurance) * Knowledge and understanding or GRC (Governance Risk and Compliance) policies, process and procedures. * Ability to document and update processes and perform tasks under deadlines. * Experience in Microsoft Server Administration preferred. * Experience in Linux Operating Systems preferred.
