The Business Manager is the relationship owner for Fulfillment Technologies and Robotics (FTR), Contract Manufacturing & Supply Chain Services suppliers. A diverse portfolio of global and regional suppliers including contract manufacturers, original design manufacturers, and integrators. The Supply Chain services vary from manufacturing, integration, assembly and kitting, procurement, inventory management, forward and reverse logistics as well as design of different types of products from custom electronic assemblies to large integrated systems.
In this capacity the Business Manager has the responsibility to:
- Lead the sourcing, selection, contract negotiation and management of one or more suppliers in alignment with the overarching supply chain strategy. Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in engineering and logistics services, delivery, cost, quality, inventory mgt, capacity/flexibility, business and contract mgt, and social responsibility.
- Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of the relationship and drive multifunctional teams relative to suppliers' involvement.
- Lead the supplier performance management and cross-functional recurrent business reviews.
- Actively engage with Product Development teams, Engineering, Internal Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Finance, Tech Deployment, Worldwide Operations and other Supply Chain Team like Procurement, Sourcing, and Logistics in different product lines to achieve the programmatic objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering, and program teams in different stages of product development heavy emphasis on new product introduction (NPI) to scale global deployment. Ensuring the sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, schedule, and business objectives.

Technical Expertise: Understanding supplier capabilities and fulfillment technologies, driving continuous improvement to ensure Amazon content aligns with customer needs.
Negotiation Skills: Leading commercial discussions to secure favorable contract terms with skilled suppliers, exercising judgment to address issues and implement changes effectively.
Contract Management: Ensuring compliance with contracts and renegotiating for benefits, focusing on protecting Amazon's interests in areas like intellectual property and confidentiality to support successful launches.
Financial Oversight: Managing contracts, pricing, and claims, requiring strong negotiation abilities.
Relationship Building: Engaging and influencing both suppliers and FTR stakeholders at all organizational levels, often under pressure. The role demands strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and the ability to present compelling business cases.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management and/or Finance.
- Experience working internationally with/for Electronic Manufacturing and integration services suppliers.
- 7+ years of experience in supply chain, supplier management, commodity management, account management, strategic sourcing and/or manufacturing operations.
- 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams and/or in program or project management
- Demonstrated use of technical, analytical, and management skills to lead RFQs, supplier selection, supplier capacity planning, and supplier risk identification/mitigation in NPI programs.
- Experience with contract negotiation and execution with domestic and internationally based contract manufacturers. Exceptional negotiation and executive supplier management skills.
- Experience developing, leading, and executing global supplier cost, risk, and lead time reduction strategies (continuous improvement).
- Experience defining program execution requirements, and using data and metrics to determine improvements (data driven).
- Experience developing and implementing mechanisms and standardize business processes (process driven).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple stakeholders, responsibilities, and delivering multiple first-of-their-kind programs with aggressive schedules.
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, Tableau analytics, and ERP/PLM Systems.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
