This position executes coproduct and select grain supply chain logistics and communication to insure optimum milling performance and economic returns. This person is critical for communication between position managers, grain shippers, carriers, and internal teams administrating coproduct marketing & grain logistics plans. The specialist is engaged in a wide range of supply chain activities including contracting, logistics execution, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and financial settlement. As a member of the Supply Chain Services team, this position continually collaborates with accounting, operations, quality assurance, sales, and transportation to ensure optimal logistics execution and streamlined financial settlement of shipments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Generate and verify accuracy of contracts and inventory and logistics schedules. Nurture co-product end user, carrier and grain shipper/producer relationships to insure logistics execution and communication of activities. Bear primary responsibility to initiate and manage coproduct shipments, managing logistics to achieve on-time delivery and manage mill inventories. Communicate with co product buyers, carriers, traffic department, grain buyers and mill operations to provide consistent feed deliveries within logistical and price parameters. Identify and communicate market trends based on observation of regional, national, and global markets. Execute responsibilities to maintain the highest practical standards in compliance with feed and food security regulations by partnering with Quality Assurance and Operations teams. Communicate relevant commodity data and information across functions including Quality Assurance, merchandising, transportation and finance to ensure accurate and efficient payments, invoicing, commodity positions and adherence to grain, food and feed safety guidelines, Team internally and externally consistent with the Bay State Milling organizational health and matrix management model. Collaborate with senior trading staff, peers, and fellow employees in the areas of cultivating excellence, accounting and control, operations, transportation and logistics, procurement, sales, co-product marketing, quality assurance and research and development in problem solving and day-to-day operations. Interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with a team Analytical and Mathematical skills Customer Service and Problem Solving Experience in Commodity Merchandising Support preferred Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and/or remotely Experience in the grain-based foods industry is a plus EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited college or university, or commensurate work experience. Preference given to experience in commodity trading.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

English fluency is essential. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to respond to either common and sensitive inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers. High attention to detail and a keen eye for esthetics. MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS

Competency in Spreadsheet and Word Processing software required (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint windows applications preferred). The ability to adopt emerging technology resources is a plus. The ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is essential. REASONING ABILITY

Must possess acumen and judgment in business situations, with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
