Description
This position starts at $17.00 per hour, working on Tuesdays, with availability to fill in for other drivers and to work an occasional Saturday or Sunday for special group trips.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties: Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed. Completes a safety and vehicle check of applicable vehicle, (i.e., car or bus) before transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments. Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation. Assists all passengers on and off the vehicle. Other Duties:
Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out. Transports vehicle(s) to service locations for routine preventative maintenance on vehicle(s) as scheduled by supervisor. Notifies supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions. Immediately notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents. Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary. Maintains all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Must be CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS:
High School education required. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic. Must possess a valid Driver's license and have a good driving record. Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents at all times. Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to load and unload cargo areas. Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule. Keep vehicles clean. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries. May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time. Must have good driving skills in handing vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
