Company Summary:

The company is one of the largest independent petroleum refiners and suppliers in the United States, providing unbranded transportation fuels, heating oil, petrochemical feedstocks, lubricants, and other petroleum products. They have refineries located across California, Delaware, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Ohio.

Position Summary: The Senior Manager for Refinery Planning is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the refinery's Linear Programming (LP) model, providing crude valuation, and developing monthly and budget operating plans. This role involves economic analysis to guide refinery optimization, coordination with internal teams, and presenting operational plans to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: •

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE):

o Serve as the emergency response secondary contact for Economics & Planning.

o dhere to all HSE policies and procedures; correct and report unsafe conditions immediately. •

General Operations:

o Develop and generate monthly operating plans for the upcoming quarter, including charge and yield, opex, and capex estimates.

o Create optimized annual budget run plans based on crude grade availability, crude pipeline allocations, product demand, and refinery availability.

o dvise on day-to-day refinery optimization, considering prompt economics, inventory levels, and refinery performance.

o Update clean product and butane runout files with the latest estimates. •

Crude and Product Analysis:

o Calculate weekly crude refining values and provide crude screening reports.

o Monitor refinery yields and update the refinery LP model to maintain model accuracy.

o Participate in crude quality monitoring processes and maintain the crude assay table for LP. •

Economic and Optimization Tasks:

o Present monthly operating plans to refinery staff, traders, and executive teams.

o Work with other departments to justify capital projects, select catalysts, and communicate operational flexibility to traders.

o Participate in twice-weekly meetings with Technical Service on refinery optimization.

o Estimate costs of equipment outages and assist in optimizing maintenance schedules and turnarounds.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. • minimum of 10 years of experience in a refinery setting. • t least 2 years of experience with LP modeling. • Experience in refinery economics preferred. • Strong numerical and data analysis skills with an intuitive approach to applying data to business results. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
