Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of the Childcare Development Center, this position performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions in support of the Center as well as providing direct care to children enrolled at the Center. Serves as the CDC receptionist; greets parents and children, answers phones and routes calls, answers inquiries and performs administrative tasks as directed by the CDC Director or designee; opens and/or closes the center in the absence of the Director. Establishes, maintains, and monitors files and records related to the administration of the program in accordance with Coast Guard policy and federal/state regulations. Collects, compiles, and organizes information and data to prepare various reports. Serves as the point of contact for submission and follow-up of all work orders and vehicle maintenance. Develops, tracks and records all invoices, payments and reimbursement request for the CDC ensuring PCI compliance with regard to use of the Credit Card machine. Provides appropriate, specialized developmental care and instruction for children enrolled in a program setting daily as scheduled by the Director or designee. Performs other related duties as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment OTHER ESSENTIAL INFORMATION: Selected will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer as the Standard method of payment for payroll and travel purposes. Males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age must be registered with the Selective Service System, unless covered by an exemption under the Selective Service Law, in accordance with 5 U.S. Code 3378. Selectee will be required to provide a written statement regarding his registration status unless he is exempted by this statute. Federal Background Check is Mandatory. Qualifications Minimum: A minimum of one year of experience in clerical support work, which demonstrates ability to perform the work of the position under minimal supervision. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Skill of qualified typist using word processor equipment is required. Must be able to type 40 wpm. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. Must have a valid driver's license. Preferred (In addition to the minimum qualifications): An Associate's Degree from an accredited university with emphasis in early childhood education, business administration or a related field, and at least two years of specialized experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree on a year-to-year basis. Experience with QuickBooks. Education Please read the "Qualifications" section.
