Guidewire Developer (Hybrid)We have an immediate need for a Guidewire Developer to join an insurance company for a contract to hire or direct hire position. The Guidewire Developer will work closely with a team of developers, testers, and business analysts to build or maintain business functionality.
Location: Wooster, Ohio. Hybrid working onsite 3 days per week.
This job expects to pay about $33 – 59 per hour or $75,000-95,000 plus bonus and benefits.
What You Will Do:
Execute full lifecycle software development within IT standards, policies, and best practices and contribute to the evolution of these standards.
Design and develop software solutions with medium complexity, by studying business processes and technical architecture, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, performance/usage, and work processes to provide optimized solutions.
Create and maintain development artifacts that may include solution and design documentation, unit testing plan, and results.
Participate in defect or incident resolution and/or root cause analysis in the incident and problem management processes.
Identify and create automation capabilities to increase IT efficiencies.
Monitor and maintain production applications to ensure high availability and minimize downtime to our customers.
Attend and participate in development and requirements meetings.
Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code. Provide feedback that aligns to IT standards.
Coach and mentor other developers, including interns.
Collaborate with technical and business resources.
Provide updates on status and raise issues in a timely manner.
Provide on occasion off-hours support.
What Gets You The Job:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or commensurate experience.
2+ years of experience programming in Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter. Experience in Gosu, Captiva, and integrations.
Knowledge of software development methodologies, processes, and project governance; experience with the Agile development methodology preferred.
Experience programming in a SQL Server environment.
