Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000

LHH is seeking a highly skilled Patent Prosecution Legal Assistant with 5+ years of experience in U.S. patent prosecution. This role requires extensive knowledge of PTO policies and electronic filing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide client support for attorneys, including managing communication, docketing, and client-specific procedures.
- Assist attorneys in prosecuting patent applications in the U.S. and internationally.
- Establish and maintain patent files; prepare and file patent documents such as applications, amendments, and issue fee payments.
- Review correspondence from the PTO and foreign associates for critical docketing.
- Maintain client portfolios, ensuring proactive communication between attorney and client.
- Update and manage docketing logs and spreadsheets.
- Handle ongoing communications with attorneys, clients, and foreign associates.
- Education: BA degree and/or paralegal certificate, or 5+ years of U.S. patent prosecution experience.
- Familiarity with USPTO rules, electronic case management systems, and tools like IPFolio or Memotech (preferred).
- Experience with U.S. Trademark application prosecution is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptable to advanced software.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to focus on detailed work for up to 80% of the day.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group, including clients and attorneys.
