Principal/Sr. Principal Design Systems Engineer
with demonstrated ability to lead development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.

Roles and Responsibilities:
This senior systems engineering role is expected to work across Forging Armor program to define system functional and performance requirements and collaborate on verification/validation approaches.
The system engineer shall be expected to work with internal customers, scientists and engineers.
Lead the trade study definition, metrics development and evaluations for the use of novel technologies to aid in the development of support tools and target transformational computing systems.
Working with the SEIT Lead, they will lead, establish, and enforce the adoption of standard processes, configuration management, and good engineering practices.
Support the implementation of digital and mixed system architectures and algorithms
Collaborate with Systems Engineering on architectural studies
Review designs and analysis.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum /
Annapolis Junction, MD.
This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level. Qualifications for each level below.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of digital engineering experience using industry standard simulation tools; 3 years with an MS degree; 0 years with PhD.
Design, development, creation, and modification of digital logic designs implemented in FPGA, or ASIC flow.
Simulation and verification of Digital Logic designs, requirements, and supporting validation at the system level.
Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools.
Experience with ASIC Specification generation and verification.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience.
Design, development, creation, and modification of digital logic designs implemented in FPGA, or ASIC flow.
Simulation and verification of Digital Logic designs, requirements, and supporting validation at the system level.
Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools.
Experience with ASIC Specification generation and verification.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications of Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
Experience with DSP, MATLAB, and SimuLink
Experience with the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tool Quartus.
Experience with board or system level debug using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Generation of Test Benches and support of formal VHDL Verification.
Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance per business requirements.

Salary Range:
$102,400 - $160,900
Salary Range 2:
$127,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
