As an Interior Designer at Ware Malcomb, you will deliver innovative design solutions to diverse clients from pre-design to design development. You will develop RFP, conceptual, schematic, and design development packages to create spaces that meet the highest standards of design and functionality. You will guide the design process, collaborate with project teams, and ensure project outcomes meet design intent.
Your Role
Meet with clients to develop ongoing relationships and determine clients’ project goals. Follow projects from inception through construction in order to maintain design quality and intent. Conduct programming efforts such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination. Prepare and conduct client presentations. Responsible for selection and specification of furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering and artwork. Estimates material requirements and preliminary costs. Solicit bids and assist Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required. Support the Construction Administration phase responding to RFI’s, CO’s, and reviews shop drawings. Possess advanced knowledge of building regulations and safety codes. Keep the project team on schedule and on budget while providing a cohesive design. Implement and utilize the best practices of Ware Malcomb for all projects and processes. Coordinate with Project Managers and direct junior staff in correctly documenting design. May mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff and deliver staff performance evaluations. Contribute to office activities and be involved in design community organizations. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Interior Architecture & Design. Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture. Registered Interior Designer (ARIDO) and NCIDQ Certified strongly preferred. Very strong conceptual design skills. Experience preparing CD working drawings; permit/tender and coordinating MEP and Structural disciplines. Strong AutoCAD skills and preferred Revit skills.
