Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.At least 5 years experience installing copper and fiber optic cabling.At least 5 years experience working in an outside plant environment.At least 5 years experience installing, testing, and maintaining physical telephone and network cabling (copper, fiber optic).At least 5 years experience working with contractors for projects of varying size.Extensive knowledge of BICSI and EIA/TIA telecommunications standards.Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with TCP/IP networking.Experience with telecommunications ticketing systems.Familiar with the installation and troubleshooting of cameras.Familiar with door access systems.Experience with project management of varying sizes of construction projects.BICSI Technician 1/2 Certification(s).
Job Description
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, and making additions to the campus-wide LAN.
Job Duties
Install, terminate and test voice and network cabling, including category-6 copper cables as well as single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
Troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of network infrastructure and cabling problems.
Perform inspections for capital projects and varying sizes of renovations in buildings across campus.
Install, modify and maintain campus security cameras.
Create, track and report work orders related to moves, adds, changes and problem resolution.
Utilize test equipment to verify all communication cables meet established standards and specifications.
Other duties as assigned.
