The Morgan Library & Museum, a museum and independent research library in midtown Manhattan, invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Public Programs (“Coordinator”). This position reports to the Public Programs Manager and supports the implementation of a range of programs across the Education & Public Programs Department, including the Morgan’s onsite, virtual, and partnership programs; lectures; workshops; tours; live arts; symposia; and social programs for adult and college audiences. The Coordinator must exercise superb attention to detail in order to manage the day-to-day administrative functions of public programs including reporting, scheduling, processing payment, and liaising with departments across the institution to coordinate event and program logistics. The ideal candidate has an understanding of the importance of administrative systems and a passion for providing arts and letters access to adult and college audiences. This is a Tuesday through Saturday position with some evenings (approximately 3–4 per month) and occasional Sundays required.
Responsibilities:
Assists with research for programs, including compiling data, prospective partnerships, and outreach.
Supports large-scale initiatives, such as auditorium programs and festivals.
Contributes to content development for adult, college, and partnership programs.
Is a primary point of logistical support the day of a program, welcoming attendees and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Tracks public programs data and creates attendance, ticketing, and financial reports.
Participates in departmental tasks, activities, and programs such as program brainstorming, training sessions, and committee meetings.
Qualifications:
Four-year degree or the equivalent in expertise. Concentration in museum studies, arts administration, studio art, literature is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps required. Experience with Zoom and Eventbrite, and a familiarity with ticketing platforms preferred.
Extremely detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate information clearly and concisely.
Experience tracking data (such as attendance and expenses) and running reports. A genuine enthusiasm for working with the public.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with staff across the institution, including volunteers and interns.
Ability to think creatively and critically, making decisions while keeping supervisors apprised of workflow and asking for assistance when needed.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and be a flexible team player.
Ability to be mobile in public spaces for several hours at a time and move objects and materials for program preparation, set up, and breakdown.
Familiarity with event production a plus.
Willingness and ability to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule with some evenings (approximately 3–4 per month) and occasional Sundays.

Compensation:
