The primary objective of the Company is to lead the growth of Electrolit sales in the United States.Position Summary:The role of Corporate Counsel at Electrolit entails providing detailed legal counsel on complex matters. Responsibilities include offering legal advice to various departments, managing contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, overseeing intellectual property matters, and developing policies to minimize risks.Location:
Houston, TX (on-site)Principal Duties:Provide legal advice and support to various departmentsDraft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreementsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulationsManage intellectual property, including trademarks and copyrightsWork with external legal counsel to handle litigation, disputes, and regulatory mattersDevelop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risksKeep record of all legal documents and proceedings for the companyLiaise with external legal counsel when necessaryMonitor changes in legislation and advise the company on necessary adjustmentsEnsure all company practices adhere to industry standards and legal requirementsSkills and Abilities:Well-versed in legal terminology and operationsCritical thinking and multitasking abilitiesAbility to spot risk and liability issues for the CompanyExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work with others and independentlyAbility to rapidly prioritize as well as execute while exhibiting good judgmentAbility to analyze, interpret, present, and write about complex ideas and concepts clearly and conciselyQualifications:JD degree from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction5 years of legal experience, preferably in a related industryLegal drafting experienceCrisis management experienceKnowledge of current legislation practicesExperienced in national, state, and local laws to support Electrolit USAStrong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, regulatory compliance, and legal defense strategiesOther Requirements:Able and willing to travelBilingual in English and Spanish, strongly preferredMust be able to lift 15 pounds at timesMust be legally authorized to work in the USAThe above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the occupation and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the occupation.
