Description

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Engineer for its Engineering Team! This is a role heavily focused on solving engineering challenges in multiple cloud environments with a high-performing team of collaborative cloud engineering professionals.

This team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and deployment of USSF Cloud Initiatives, designed to streamline performance, reduce administrative overhead and workload, and deliver a seamless user experience with our customers. We are looking for talent primarily in Vandenberg, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, and El Segundo, CA for hybrid work situation. Each of the roles require differing levels of clearance, ranging from Secret to Top Secret/SCI. Depending on the skillsets in demand, remote availability may be acceptable with travel and applicable access to SCIFs.

This work supports the USSF Operational C2 Mission under Kobayashi Maru. USSF has multiple cloud environments in an existing global, interconnected, disparate, virtualized, hybrid, and Enterprise IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data that serves the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and other Government Customers. OSC2 LOE1 facilitates the Government's efforts to operate and maintain current environments, while assisting with the migration of applications to multiple cloud environments, allowing for increased efficiencies across the entire spectrum of the USSF operations.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:Analyze existing system architecture and recommend secure design changes multiple classified cloud environments based on project objectives and current clearanceDevelop scripts and workflows as needed for automated deployment of infrastructure, platforms, and applicationsGenerate design documents, best practice configurations, and test procedures.Execute testing to validate system performance IAW the developed test plan and criteriaSupport KM Cloud Architect with Architecture Change Management engineering decisionsRecommend improvements to the existing architecture and process to reduce repetitive or time-intensive tasks in favor of automated solutions.Provide subject matter expertise on both on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud toolsets and best practicesConfigure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systemsQualifications

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience or seven (7) years' experience in an IT related field with a Master's degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeActive Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearanceAt least three (3) years of experience in AWS, Azure and VMware environment development and/or engineeringDemonstrated experience with some or all of the following: Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and VDIKnowledge of and experience working with DevSecOps tool chainsExperience preparing technical documentationExperience working in a team environment with the ability to mentor junior team membersConfigure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systemsProactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficienciesExperience with containerization tools such as KubernetesRequired Certifications:Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification or higherSystem Engineer/Administration/Architect certifications in one or multiple major cloud CSP'sDesired Skills/Qualifications:Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI)Zero trust architecturesExperience with automation tools including Ansible and TerraformTS+ Cloud or Platform 1 development, engineering, operations and sustainmentIn-depth understanding of, and experience as a cloud engineer with Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, storage, Active Directory, F5, BarracudaTarget salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
