QA Manager role
Position Summary : Manages the team, ensuring application, data, process, and system quality, defect-free execution, and adherence to SDLC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Hire, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing team focusing on culture, accountability, engagement, diversity, and talent management.
Foster collaboration and communication across the organization to resolve testing issues.
Optimize QA resource allocations for timely delivery.
Maintain QA standards, tools, and procedures with IT leadership.
Communicate QA metrics and reporting.
Oversee defect root cause analysis with IT leadership.
Implement effective QA methodologies and tools.
Develop automation/performance frameworks and test tools for application development.
Lead QA process improvements.
Stay updated on technology and testing developments.
Enforce company policies on information security and compliance.
Provide emergency IT operational support.
Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
Bachelors in Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
Equivalent combination of education/experience considered.
5+ years in management/supervision.
10+ years in QA or IT audit.
Experience with relational databases and web applications.
Proficient in Test Case Management, Defect Tracking, Quality Reporting.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities :
Understanding of web design and software development.
Knowledge of modern database technologies.
Identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies.
Expertise in software testing principles, methodologies, and automated testing.
Adapt to Agile Testing practices.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
Facilitate root cause analysis for critical defects/system outages.
Highly organized with strong initiative and accountability.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable with technology-driven business environments.
Balance technical knowledge with business acumen.
Operate confidently with incomplete information.
Maintain urgency when necessary.
Proactive project and resource management.
Service industry experience (Insurance, Banking, Financial) is a plus.
