Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
Possess technology domain knowledge with networking routing and switching. Experience in tunnelling communication such as IPsec, VXLAN, GRE, OTV. Experience with Data Center Network not limited to tiered designs, Leaf & Spine, VXLAN, DCI, load balancer, SD-WAN and Wireless.
Experience with network protocols IP routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast, MPLS and cloud networking knowledge such as NATGW, IGW, VGW, TGW, VPC peering and etc. Equipped with network security infrastructure knowledge such as NGFW, IPS, VPN, Endpoint Security.
Build comprehensive network infrastructure and cloud network connectivity to address requirements for performance, scalability, and security. Manage end to end in design, implementation, until operational optimisation. The architecture design shall include the lifecycle of network routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, load balancers etc.
To compose RFP specifications for technology refresh, lead in IT network solution design for RFP/RFQ, including conduct presentation to stakeholder on recommended options and solution, following by technical input for contract review.
Assess the technologies across the IT network landscape to reduce cost, consolidate infrastructure, and recommend new technologies to upgrades end of support network equipment. Supports all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, load balancers, firewall, SD-WAN, UPS when necessary.
Lead the end-to-end IT network project/technology refresh implementation, from design, migration planning, implementation and handover to operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cybersecurity team and application team, to ensure the successful deployment of projects and ensure the quality of deliverables. Manage project timelines, ensure it's not deviate from the project objective and the milestones are achievable.
Responsible to build the automation of service activation and deactivation, maximize the automation capability to reduce manual human intervention efforts. Identify opportunities to improve firmware upgrade workflows and system performance through automation tools. Proficient in ansible playbook writing and terraform to automate workflow and provisioning.
Update policy and procedure documentation in key areas such as infrastructure lifecycles, vendor management and resource onboarding processes; review of existing IT network processes and controls, assess gaps, and recommend/executing remediation plans.
Practices hardware asset management, including maintenance of network equipment’s inventory, ensure CMDB record data consistency and store technical specifications documentation in repository.
Key Performance Measures:1. 100% of Incidents, Service Request (SR) and Event Resolved within 3 hours (Severity 1)2. 100% of Incidents, Service Request (SR) and Event Resolved within 6 hours (Severity 2)3. 99% Operational Changes implemented successfully and on time4. 100% of Problems have an RCA within 3 days from when Incident is Resolved (Severity 1)5. 100% of Problems have an RCA within 3 days from when Incident is Resolved (Severity 2)6. >99.95% per month per server (applies to on-prem and cloud instances)7. Deliver high customer (i.e. business user) satisfaction on incidents and service requests
