About the Job
This role is responsible for the overall Value & Access (V&A) strategy for the Vaccine business unit in the U.S. This role is responsible for leading the strategy for payer engagement, delivery of reimbursement education to providers and health-economic messaging to payers and health systems.
This role will be responsible for engagement for currently licensed products and products in our pipeline.
This role will lead the creation of all market access assessments for pipeline and BD assets in the U.S. working closely with HEVA and brand/franchise teams.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead the V&A team in its execution of payer strategies for in-line and pipeline products.
Lead the V&A team in the development of educational reimbursement materials for dissemination via the reimbursement teams.
Lead the market access launch planning for all vaccine products notably RSV older adult and Expec.
Lead engagement on Federal payment strategy including potential future IRA negotiations.
Plan and manage the Vaccine BU V&A brand budget.
Participate with the brand planning and provide input into brand strategy development.
Lead development and ensure alignment of all pricing/contracting strategies with the pricing team, tactics and initiatives to maximize profitability goals and add value to the organization.
Partner with HEVA business partners to inform real world evidence generation and ensure health economic activities are in place to meet the needs of payers while demonstrating value across the vaccine franchises.
Develop and communicate robust market access strategies and plans, including clear articulation of the brands’ value story, and help to integrate them into the overall brand plan.
Identify gaps in current market access understanding and develop plans to gain direct payer insights through primary research, advisory boards, etc., and work with vendors to implement projects in a timely, impactful manner.
Develop strong value communication platform and messaging in order to support access targets and goals.
Lead pull through opportunities and execution of pull through strategy for all channels and geographies based upon formulary position and opportunity.
About You
Professional Skills and Competencies:
Experience in payer/brand marketing.
Experience in working with US payers.
Experience in buy & bill products (strongly preferred).
Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead cross functionally.
Demonstrated experience in launching new products.
Deep understanding of Commercial, Medicare Part D and Medicaid.
Prior experience engaging with CMS on payment related topics (strongly preferred).
Experience identifying trends and insights assimilating into market/channel strategy.
Understanding of key payer value drivers and ability to develop and implement payer value propositions.
Experience developing presentations utilizing HEOR drivers for payors and/or formulary committees of large health systems.
Working understanding of strategic pricing and commercial contracting strategy, process and rules.
Demonstrated ability to identify and develop business opportunities based upon the above.
Deep understanding of the cross functional interactions between Account Management and Field Sales to ensure successful implementation of pull through plan.
Strong financial acumen, analytic skills & critical thinking ability.
Understanding of the legal/regulatory environment and internal Sanofi legal/regulatory guidelines and processes.
Ability to communicate at the executive level.
Education/Experience:
B.A. or B.S. Degree; Advanced Degree preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical healthcare sector.
5-7 years in payer space (account management; payer marketing; contracting, etc.).
Travel:
Approximately 25%
