Job Title : Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of M&A to lead and drive the company’s mergers and acquisitions initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the M&A strategy, identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets, managing the end-to-end deal process, and ensuring successful integration post-transaction. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in deal structuring and strategic investment, along with a proven track record of closing deals that drive growth. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of M&A will play a critical role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory and expanding our footprint in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the M&A strategy in alignment with the company's long-term growth objectives.
Identify industry trends and strategic opportunities to drive expansion and market presence.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets, fostering relationships with key industry contacts.
Source and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities, conducting thorough market and competitive analysis.
Lead the initial screening process, performing strategic fit and financial analyses to prioritize target companies.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to assess risks, opportunities, and potential synergies of target companies.
Oversee the full M&A deal lifecycle, from due diligence and valuation to negotiation, structuring, and closing.
Develop and review detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, and accretion/dilution analyses, to assess value creation.
Lead negotiations with target companies and their advisors, structuring deals to maximize shareholder value.
Work closely with the finance, legal, HR, and operations teams to manage due diligence and integration planning.
Develop and execute integration plans to ensure a smooth transition and capture identified synergies post-acquisition.
Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team and board of directors on deal progress and key strategic recommendations.
Build and lead a high-performing M&A team, providing mentorship and guidance to drive success.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture, aligning team goals with the overall strategic vision of the company.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
6+ years of experience in investment banking and/or private equity with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex transactions.
Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, combined with effective leadership and project management skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders.
Knowledge of consumer services is required.
