The National Interest

seeks a

managing editor

to lead its forthcoming energy channel, Energy World, which will launch in January 2025. The channel will cover the collision between great power competition and the evolving global energy system, to include political, economic, and technological competition for energy and related commodities and technologies; changing patterns of fossil fuel supply and demand; established and emerging clean energy technologies such as nuclear, advanced nuclear, and renewable energy; energy access, reliability, affordability, and security; energy-related trade and investment; and climate change politics, policy, and diplomacy. Responsibilities: Commission articles and review unsolicited submissions Edit and post articles daily Write articles regularly Conduct and post video/audio/print interviews with experts, businesses, NGOs, and policymakers Organize periodic in-person and virtual panel discussions Monitor energy-related developments domestically and internationally; plan content accordingly Build and maintain contacts in the energy/climate sector domestically and internationally, including with experts, businesses, NGOs, and policymakers Ensure high professional standards in editing, writing, argumentation, and evidence in published material Qualifications: BA in journalism, politics, economics, international affairs, science/engineering, energy, or related fields 5 years journalism or related experience, including 3 years working on energy/climate issues Outstanding English-language writing and editing skills Knowledge of international and domestic energy policy, technology, and markets Knowledge of international affairs Eager to work in a small, fast-paced team Willing to work in
