Sr. Java/AWS Developer
with at least
8+ years’ experience
developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Our engineers are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we’re doing wrong, so we can fix it, and what we’re doing right, so we can improve on it. Above all, we judge success by the success of our team and the happiness of our customers.Location: Sacramento, CA, USA (CAN BE REMOTE WITHIN US)You must be legally authorized to work in the USA without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.Roles/Responsibilities:Design and implementation of software solutions using AWS and Java, ensuring high performance and scalability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project specifications and requirements.Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability.Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.Stay abreast of new technologies and propose their adoption where beneficial to our projects.Ensure the security of our applications by integrating best-in-class security practices.Optimize existing systems for improved performance and scalability.Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as they arise.Provide technical leadership in the planning and execution of projects. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.Required Qualifications:Proven experience as a software engineer with a strong background in AWS and Java.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Experience in the Payer domain is advantageous but not mandatory.A commitment to achieving project goals and deadlines.Ability to mentor and lead a team of junior engineers.Passion for technology and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies.Lead Software Engineer with 8 to 10 years of experience, proficient in AWS and Java, to drive our software development projects forward.Salary and Other Compensation:The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 - $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.Benefits:
