Position Summary Information
Job Goal
Ability to assist lead faculty with chosen evening Paramedic labs at the Peosta campus.
Qualifications
Paramedic with at least two years of recent Paramedic experience and currently active with an EMS service required.
NREMT-P preferred, but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist lead lab faculty with set-up, lab instruction, and tear down of Paramedic lab skills activities and competencies.
2. Incorporate learning assessment activities in the instructional content.
3. Maintain a classroom environment that supports student engagement, retention and completion.
4. Utilize instructional methods that require student engagement and collaboration.
5. Provide lab skills feedback and assessments according to prescribed guidelines.
6. Ensure that the classroom environment provides respect for diversity and individual viewpoints.
7. Emphasize to all students the importance of prompt and regular lab attendance.
8. Initiate referrals for identified at-risk student behaviors.
9. Incorporate authentic learning into lab courses.
10. Meet deadlines set forth by lead lab faculty.
11. Meet roles and responsibilities as delegated by program accreditation bodies.
