Entry Level Security Analyst

that will be dedicated to threat detection, prevention, and incident response.

This includes analyzing security alerts, logs, events, and information generated by our various security infrastructure appliances and systems.

This position can be located in

Denver, CO

or

Germantown, MD .

Responsibilities:Threat Detection – Using the enterprise SIEM system as a primary tool, continuously monitor security alerts, logs, events, and information generated by security infrastructure including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IDS/IPS), network proxies, active directory, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint security solutions.Event Analysis – Analyze and investigate any suspicious security events or network activity to determine if a security response or incident response effort is required.Incident Response – Perform incident response when required.

This includes applying effective interpersonal skills in order to successfully work directly with system owners, administrators, and engineers to resolve security issues, complete security investigations, and complete incident response efforts.Threat Prevention – Assist with the administration and maintenance of security infrastructure including intrusion prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security scanners, the enterprise SIEM system, firewalls, and other security infrastructure.Security Recommendations – Will use information and lessons learned from security and incident response activities to provide security recommendations to the IT Security Operations team such as recommendations for improvements to security infrastructure and/or capabilities.Basic RequirementsBachelors degree in information systems, computer science, cyber security or related technical field0-2 years of recent experience in an IT-related position (security analyst, security engineer, network engineer, systems engineer, systems administrator, etc.) that included cybersecurity experience and/or responsibilities.0-2 years of experience working directly with TCP/IP networking, protocols, and services, configuring, troubleshooting and deploying TCP/IP based systems and services.0-2 years of working directly with network traffic and packet analysis for the purposes of detecting and analyzing security intrusions, threats, and defensive network operations.Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in a position directly related to cybersecurity (security analyst, security engineer, network security engineer, security consultant, etc.).Recent experience with security analysis in one or more of the major cloud providers:

Azure, AWS, GCPRecent experience in a position directly related to network traffic/packet analysis, intrusion detection, or incident response.Recent cybersecurity certification such as: CISSP, CEH, OSCP, Security+, or any of the SANS GIAC certifications.Functional knowledge of one or more of the following security technologies:

SIEMFirewallIntrusion Detection/PreventionEndpoint Detection and ResponseSASE/SSEVulnerability ScanningCloud SecurityAnti-spam/Anti-malwareNetwork sniffersDLPAI/ML

Functional knowledge of Linux operating systems including Ubuntu, CentOS, and/or open-source tools.Functional knowledge of Windows operating systems including workstation, server, and Active DirectoryGood inter-personal skills and proven ability to work relatively independently.Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance#LI-AM1Compensation RangeAnnual Salary: $64,000.00 - $80,000.00
