GENERAL DYNAMICSEnterprise Storage EngineerTampa, FLGDIT is looking for a skilled Enterprise Storage Engineer to support the CITS contract for USCENTCOM, based in Tampa, Florida. The Enterprise Storage Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure storage solutions critical to the operations of our enterprise environment.

This role is essential for ensuring the availability and reliability of enterprise storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Storage Engineer with a solid background in architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise storage environments. Chosen engineer will be responsible for:

Designing, deploying, and managing enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage) ensuring high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities across multiple data centers and physical sites.

Configuring, monitoring, and optimizing storage solutions to meet performance, capacity, and scalability requirements while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.

Managing storage protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, and FC (Fibre Channel), ensuring proper configuration and integration with VMware and physical servers.

Performing regular infrastructure assessments, updates, and patches on storage systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance with industry best practices and organizational standards.

Troubleshooting storage-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and data access problems, utilizing root cause analysis techniques.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams (networking, virtualization, cloud, and security) to design and implement storage solutions that meet project requirements and align with organizational goals.

Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members, helping them develop a deeper understanding of enterprise storage technologies and best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

Designing and implementing disaster recovery and backup solutions for enterprise storage environments using tools such as VMware Site Recovery Manager, Veeam, and other industry-standard technologies.

Developing and maintaining documentation related to storage architecture, procedures, and configurations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

Evaluating and recommending new storage technologies and solutions to enhance system performance, efficiency, and scalability, keeping up-to-date with emerging trends and vendor offerings.

Supporting security initiatives to protect enterprise storage systems, ensuring compliance with applicable security policies, regulations, and best practices, such as NIST and CIS standards.

Coordinating with third-party vendors and service providers for troubleshooting, patch management, and issue resolution, maintaining strong relationships to ensure continuous service improvement.

Providing storage management support for cloud-based platforms, integrating on-prem storage systems with hybrid cloud solutions to support growing data requirements.

Education and/or Certifications:Required:

Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification

Storage-related certifications such as NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE), Dell EMC Proven Professional, or CompTIA Storage+

Desired:

ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

Certified Storage Engineer (CSE)

Bachelor’s degree in IT with 8 years of experience OR 12 years of applicable experience.

Required Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage) using industry-standard technologies.

Strong expertise with storage arrays, storage virtualization, and data replication technologies, including NetApp, EMC, and HPE 3PAR.

Solid understanding of data protection and disaster recovery technologies, including backup and replication solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).

Experience with storage networking protocols (iSCSI, NFS, FC) and integration with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to storage infrastructure and architecture.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with cloud storage solutions and integration (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with automation tools like Ansible, PowerShell, or Terraform for automating storage provisioning and management tasks.

Familiarity with Storage Management Software like Dell EMC Unisphere, NetApp OnCommand, or similar tools.

Experience with USCENTCOM or understanding of its mission and IT environment.

Clearance Requirement:

Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10% travel required for USCENTCOM exercise support, potentially to OCONUS locations.
