Overview
We are seeking a Lead User Experience Designer who will play a dual role as both a hands-on designer and a strategic leader. This individual will lead a newly established Design Engineering Center focused on top-tier UX and UI designs to drive our evolving product roadmap, deliver customer outcomes, and meet business objectives. Working closely with product management, engineering, and stakeholders, the Lead UX Designer will ensure our products are intuitive, user-centered, and consistently aligned with our exciting vision.
The position will require creativity, leadership capability, and a focus on leveraging technology to create amazing human-centered experiences.
This position is a hybrid role, based out of Boulder, CO.
Base Pay Range:
$134,000 - $161,000
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary range, QSC offers a comprehensive package including but not limited to health benefits, 401K or Roth retirement plans, generous time off, and profit sharing.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
Build, develop, and lead the UX design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Establish design standards, processes, and best practices for the Design Engineering Center, aligning them with the company’s strategic goals.
Collaborate with product management to translate business objectives into user-centered design strategies, supporting product roadmap and planning.
Mentor and guide junior designers, helping them grow in their careers and refine their skills.
Support clear communication of our product roadmap and design goals to internal stakeholders through the lifecycle of multiple products.
Design & Execution:
Lead the design of engaging and intuitive user experiences for software applications, with a strong focus on cloud-based platforms.
Support our product management organization’s user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to inform design decisions and validate concepts.
Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, working hands-on with development teams to ensure design fidelity throughout the build process.
Work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure UX is embedded into product development and support cross-functional collaboration.
Innovation & Industry Best Practices:
Stay updated on UX/UI trends, tools, and methodologies, and actively integrate new design approaches to keep our products at the leading edge.
Champion accessibility, responsiveness, and consistency across all products, ensuring inclusivity for all users.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 7+ years of UX/UI design experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or lead designer role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar; familiarity with front-end technologies and cloud-based environments is highly desirable.
Portfolio:
A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design for complex software applications and an understanding of cloud-based design challenges.
Leadership Abilities:
Proven experience in managing design teams and driving design strategies that align with business goals.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire teams and build strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
