Corporate Attorney , your duties will include:Regulatory Compliance :Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing automotive sales, financing, advertising, and environmental regulations.Monitor and advise on changes in laws and regulations affecting the automotive industry.

Contract Management :Draft, review, and negotiate sales agreements, financing contracts, vendor agreements, and service contracts.Assist in negotiations with suppliers, lenders, and partners to secure favorable terms.

Employment Law :Advise on hiring practices, employee contracts, benefits, and termination procedures.Ensure compliance with labor laws, including wage and hour laws, workplace safety, and anti-discrimination statutes.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution :Represent the company in legal disputes with customers, employees, or other businesses.Manage outside counsel when necessary.Engage in mediation or arbitration to settle disputes out of court.

Real Estate Transactions :Manage legal aspects of acquiring or leasing property for dealership locations.Navigate local zoning laws and obtain necessary permits.

Corporate Governance :Ensure the company's operations align with corporate statutes and LLC regulations.Advise on issues related to the board of directors and member relations.

Intellectual Property Protection :Protect the company's brand names, logos, and marketing materials.Handle agreements related to the use of proprietary technologies or software.

Consumer Protection Laws :Ensure that sales and advertising practices comply with FTC regulations and the Truth in Lending Act.Address legal issues arising from customer complaints or disputes.

Financial Services Regulation :Comply with regulations related to offering financing options to customers.Ensure accurate reporting and handling of customer credit information.

Risk Management :Develop internal policies to minimize legal risks.Advise on insurance coverage and manage claims.

Data Privacy and Security :Ensure compliance with laws related to the handling of personal information.Advise on measures to protect against data breaches and cyber attacks.

Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have:Active Membership in the Maryland Bar Association : Must have been a member for at least

2 years.Juris Doctor (JD) Degree : From an accredited law school.Experience : Minimum of 2 years of corporate legal experience, preferably in the automotive industry or a related field.Knowledge of Relevant Laws and Regulations : Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws affecting the automotive industry.Excellent Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication abilities.Negotiation Skills : Proven ability to negotiate contracts and legal agreements effectively.Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.Organizational Skills : Excellent time management and organizational abilities.Trustworthiness and Confidentiality : High degree of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.Proficiency with Legal Software and Microsoft Office Suite : Familiarity with legal research tools and document management systems.Ability to Commute/Relocate : Ability to reliably commute to Sterling, VA, or plan to relocate before starting work (required).If you are an experienced attorney with a passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to excellence, we invite you to apply to join Easterns Automotive Group and play a key role in our continued success.
