Job Overview

This role involves advocating for immigrants' rights in court and before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and leading a team of legal professionals. Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and USCIS. Handle complex asylum and relief cases. Lead and manage a team of legal professionals to ensure high standards of client representation. Conduct in-depth client interviews and devise strategic legal defenses. Engage in thorough research, including consultations with country condition experts. Prepare appeals for the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Maintain precise case notes and records using legal software. Draft and file detailed motions, briefs, and appeals. Interact with government agencies such as ICE, DHS, and EOIR. Provide empathetic and responsive client communication throughout the case. Requirements
Active law license in good standing. Minimum of 3 years of experience in removal defense, with extensive knowledge of asylum cases. Conducted at least 30 Individual Calendar Hearings (ICHs). Strong courtroom presence and persuasive litigation skills. High proficiency in written and oral advocacy. Proven success in managing complex cases and achieving favorable outcomes. Attention to detail in documentation, research, and case management. Experience drafting successful appeals to the BIA. Team leadership and management experience. Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications
Licensed attorney in good standing. Skills
Excellent client communication and service skills. Strong research and legal writing abilities. Capability to develop innovative case strategies. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced court environment. Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
