Project Overview:

Bechtel's focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational projects. Bechtel's renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for the Sunfish 2 project, a 360MW DC solar plant in Calhoun County, Michigan.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Project Manager and located at the jobsite, responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering the project from the stages of construction, performance testing, initial operations, and prime contract management. Supervises the administration of budgets and schedules, manages performance, reports progress, and initiates action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications. Resolves problems and coordinates the final turnover of the project to the customer. Provides leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team. Has overall responsibility for the compliance organizations' execution, ensuring that project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety and to Customer and Bechtel performance expectations.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for direction or performance of staff activities, including employee development and guidance within assigned area(s) Ensures processes and procedures are fully developed and implemented Recommends changes to policies and guidelines where necessary Creates and administers staff schedules and de-conflicts as necessary Serves as a liaison between project teams, internal or external clients or other functional areas of the organization Ensures work is completed on time and within established quality standards and provides reports to internal and external clients and/or project/functional management Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H); Surety; Security and Quality & Performance Management. Serves as Deputy PM in absence of PM. Customer Interface - communications directly with senior customer representatives in all areas of responsibility.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Education and Experience Requirements:

BS degree and 15+ years of progressive experience in the following functions - project management, procurement, contracts, engineering, environmental, operations, and/or quality assurance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of Bechtel organization, policies, procedures and programs including QA and Safety. Experience with lump sum and reimbursable projects. Ability to effectively organize and staff a project team in a matrix organization. Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel standard tools, techniques and procedures. Business and Commercial awareness. Knowledge and experience in Project Execution Plan development and implementation. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge and experience in contracts/subcontracts formulation, risk analysis, negotiations, and implementation including: Knowledge of project insurance issues/options. Knowledge of cross functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially Project Controls, Supply Chain management, Quality management and the ability to manage the relationships/interfaces with management and functional groups. Oral, written and graphic communication and presentation skills
