Position Summary
THE FOCUS IS YOU:
As an Enterprise Manager, you will be in a position of full responsibility for directing engagements and special assignments and have the enhanced capability of supervising several engagements simultaneously.
The Manager oversees the performance of client service and all related activity.
The Manager can perform all tasks related to client service and sees that assignments are accomplished by the engagement team within the budgeted time.
This role takes on responsibility for the professional and technical development of the staff through on-the-job-interaction and leading in-house training.
Additionally, the Manager has begun to develop a list of potential referral sources to bring new business to the firm and is involved in community activities for the purposes of business development and cross selling the firm’s services.
The manager should be developing expertise in one or more specific industry areas.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Tax Strategy and Engagement Oversight:
Ensure adherence to engagement timelines, budgets, and firm standards
Collaborate with partners and directors to develop comprehensive tax strategies and plans that address client-specific risks and objectives
Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to engagements
Provide expert guidance to the team on complex accounting and tax issues
Help with the development and implementation of comprehensive tax planning strategies for clients, ensuring alignment with their financial objectives and minimizing tax liabilities
Manage a portfolio of tax engagements, supervise tax staff, and review their work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to firm standards
Monitor engagement progress, budgets, and timelines, and make adjustments as needed to meet client expectations
Research and Analysis:
Stay abreast of evolving audit and tax laws, regulations, and industry developments, applying this knowledge to client engagements and internal training initiatives
Coordinate and complete tax research efforts to address client inquiries, resolve complex issues, and guide decision-making
Client Communication:
Effectively communicate complex audit and tax concepts and strategies to clients, tailoring explanations to their understanding and addressing their questions or concerns
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on tax-related matters, providing insights into their financial situations and potential tax implications
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their tax-related matters
Compliance and Documentation:
Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to internal quality control standards
Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements to avoid penalties and ensure timely submissions
Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and changes, ensuring the firm and its clients are compliant with the latest tax requirements
Team Collaboration:
Coach, mentor, and develop staff and senior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development
Collaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to share insights, knowledge, and best practices
Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to foster their professional growth and ensure the quality of their work
Cultivate a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and effective communication among team members
Participate in internal training sessions to enhance your technical skills and stay updated on industry trends
Process Improvement and Innovation:
Identify opportunities to enhance tax workflows, processes, and methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm's tax services
Ensure compliance with internal quality control procedures, including reviewing and approving tax filings, documentation, and client deliverables
Strategic Business Development
Collaborate with partners and senior management to identify business development opportunities, cultivate client leads, and contribute to the firm's growth strategy
Participate in proposal development and presentations to prospective clients
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
5-8 years in relevant position
Public accounting or other professional services environment preferred
Education
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
License / Certification
Must be a CPA for Audit, Tax Accounting; Respective similar certification for IT audit, consulting
Must maintain required CPE credits annually
May need other industry or specialization certification for specific positions
Legal / Compliance
Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document
Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government
