As a
Senior Production Manager
in our Aerospace Division, you will oversee the supervisors within your area and have a specific focus on safety and meeting production metrics. You will play an important role in the operation and interact with production staff, cell leaders, and key leadership members of the plant. This position is located onsite at our Sylmar, CA facility and you will report to the Operations Manager. Key Responsibilities Prioritize safety and engage in safety related activities. Manage the operations of all production for military transparencies to ensure that quality standards, delivery goals and cost reduction objectives are achieved. Provide production process analysis and make recommendations on solutions to process improvements to hit the goal. Establish critical internal relationships with supporting systems to resolve production issues in a collaborative manner. Encourage continuous improvement of individuals and team's performance. Promote people engagement and create an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration. Drive operational RCCAs to mitigate causes that impact performance to plan. Manage the success of cleanliness initiatives and its sustainment by identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of the production processes. Train, cross-train and maintain proficiency records of direct reports. Identify high performers and develop succession plans as needed. Review, counsel, and discipline employees as necessary; Maintain employee records. Identify and recommend proper staffing levels based on production needs utilizing tools such as capacity analysis. Manage cost of manufacturing, including material usage and overtime. Drive risk management processes. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and tooling are sustained through TPM. Ensure proper inventory control and management to reduce aging WIP; Manage WIP movement using ERP system (QAD). Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in technical field. 5 years minimum of experience in an aerospace, automotive, or military, manufacturing environment. Current holder of or willing to acquire a DOD security clearance (required). Must be a U.S. Citizen. Proficient in PowerBi, Tableau, R, Minitab, with strong skills in data analytics. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge. Experience in Kanban and Materials Markets. May need to work some Saturdays, minor variation in the schedule(s), and additional hours as needed.
