Position Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks Number of Openings: 1 Start Date: 12/16 or later Hours/Shifts/Schedules: 36 (3×12's) /Nights *Willwork every OTHER weekend/holidaySetting: Government hospital serving Southeast DC and surrounding Maryland communities Level 2 Trauma center Float to other ICU units as needed Position Requirements: Minimum 1.5 years of RN ICU/Critical Care experience Experience working in a trauma setting Active DC RN license BLS and ACLS (AHA) Amergis Travel Advantages Local office footprint in most major cities across the country Premium pay rates with tax advantage compensation Health/Dental/Vision Insurance available on 1 st of month Weekly pay through direct deposit Accessible via office phone, email, or text Emergency, On-call line, available 24/7 TheCritical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability forthe application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in avariety of critical care settings. Consistently performs according to nursingstandards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others inthe management of patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring,assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management, medicationadministration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central line care,catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient's status. TheCritical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonaryresuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.Essential Duties andResponsibilities: Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition Collects, documents, analyzes, and interprets data and other information from healthcare team members Communicates nursing interventions, expected outcomes and the time frames for expected completion to other members of the hospital health care team Functions as a resource to the health care team members in planning for patient's discharge Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education Compares expected and actual outcomes of care and identifies deviation from the plan of care Adheres to facility/client policies, procedures and protocols at all times Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Minimum Requirements: Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices One year of critical care experience is preferred Minimum of one year acute or critical care experience preferred Current BLS card; current ACLS/PALS card (per facility requirement) Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required Computer proficiency required Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
