Position Details: Speech Language Pathologist- Mount Morris, IL Location : Mount Morris, IL 61054 Project Duration :13 weeks Pay Rate :$46/hr
Job Summary The Speech- Language Pathologist (SLP) will demonstrate skills in leadership, supervision, management, and advanced clinical skills. The SLP performs evaluations and develops treatment plans in accordance with federal, state, and professional guidelines/standards to patients who exhibit speech, language, cognitive, developmental or swallowing disorders.
Skills:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform required duties. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English. Bi-lingual skills welcome
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Three (3) years' experience holding active CCCS prior to CFY Supervision preferred Must hold current and active license or registration in state employed Must be ASHA certified (CCCs) Completion of orientation required by company policy. Health screening and TB tes within two weeks of employment. Mandatory drug test upon hire. Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check. Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job. Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment Education/ Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program Minimum one (1) year experience working with adults in a health care setting preferred

Frequently assist patients with exercises. Must be able to rapidly assist in the evacuation of all residents from the building in case of emergency. Job Description: Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following: Adherence to Policies
Must show courtesy and respect to other employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, the general public, etc. Abide by Client's drug and alcohol policy Maintain good personal hygiene and dress and groom appropriately. Report on time as scheduled and follow all company policies and procedures. Attend staff meetings and in-service sessions. Become thoroughly familiar with emergency procedures. Must be able to perform duties in a timely fashion, and within the prescribed sequences and schedules. Must be cooperative with other departments and be courteous and respectful in dealing with them at all times. Participate in and respond professionally to surveys (inspections) conducted by government agencies.
Speech-Language Pathologist Duties include
Effectively screens/evaluates/rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive or swallowing disorders and develops appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards. Utilizes standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.\ Assesses patients progress and adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Evaluates treatment outcomes for effectiveness. Services are modified in relation to patient evaluation and referrals are made in relation to outcomes. Provides consultation and counseling to patients, as well as families, caregivers and other service providers related to the speech disorders. Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides comprehensive discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements. Participation in required meetings including but not limited to: patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, etc. Participate in facility and company required trainings, in-services and conferences. Able to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Able to supervise and support CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists Adherence to ASHA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, ethics during professional practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Active ASHA and State Licensure
Patient Care
Be personally involved with all aspects of resident care to the extent necessary to assess its quality. Respect all resident rights, including the confidentiality of resident care information. Report immediately to the proper legal authorities if you have reason to believe a resident has been physically, emotionally, or sexually abused, or been a victim of theft of their personal property. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and love, giving the resident the quality of service you would want to receive personally. Reflect the four core values of Client.
Work Environment
May be asked to work beyond normal working hours and must have flexibility and willingness to work holidays, etc. Must work in an office and other areas of the facility as needed. May be subject to illness, diseases, and other health conditions present in the facility. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility
