Our employees share they join & stay because of how rewarding their work is!Job DetailsSummary: Responsibilities include preparation of general ledger entries, month-end cash and account reconciliations, monitoring of accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, accounts payable reviews, and proper expense coding. The individual takes the lead in performing both routine and complex accounting tasks, such as financial analysis, maintaining statistical and financial reports, overseeing purchasing procedures, and assisting with monthly financial, audit, and budget documentation. The role also involves identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements and grant reports, generate specialty financial reports as requested, and support year-end audit preparation. Contribute to the compilation and reconciliation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, and assist with external grant audit reports. Engage in financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling for internal use. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain spreadsheets, ledgers, and journals. Ensure timely and accurate posting to various ledgers and records following established guidelines. Verify, review, and audit accounts payable invoices, reimbursement requests, and receivables. Manage accounts receivable functions, including billing, posting, oversight of customer balances, and monthly journal entries. Initiate necessary wire transfers promptly. Process bi-weekly payroll and prepare related journal entries. Complete year-end verification of W-2s and other payroll duties as assigned. Prepare and submit quarterly sales tax reports. Work on automation initiatives for routine financial processes and complete other duties as assigned.Requirements:
Four years of education, experience, or training in accounting, finance, or a related field. Proficient understanding of accrual accounting principles and procedures. Experience with electronic general ledger software, with a preference for Great Plains. Knowledge of billing principles, financial record-keeping, and reporting procedures. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly with accounts payable, receivable, and cash receipts.
