This position will be based out of our Tampa, FL location with a hybrid work environment.
We’re looking for a highly motivated, practical, and responsible DevOps Engineer with a focus on Site-Reliability Engineering (SRE) who is excited to play a critical role in our rapidly growing Platform team. The DevOps/SRE Engineer role will make significant contributions to our DevOps strategy, be integral to our day-to-day operations, and be a DevOps & SRE advocate within the company.
The successful candidate will have experience with CI/CD, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and application testing. Understanding of Cloud (AWS), SRE Practices, version control, configuration management, and automation are also required.
Principal Responsibilities:
Administer Baldwin’s DevOps tools (GitHub, Datadog, Puppet, AWS).
Develop and support reliable CI/CD pipelines by collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams for various use-cases.
Be an advocate at Baldwin for DevOps, SRE, and Automation testing practices.
Instrument infrastructure and application with monitoring, alerting, logging, and distributed tracing tools for custom applications and SaaS/PaaS platforms.
Define and monitor Service Level Indicator (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Implement IaC tools for Provisioning and Configuration Management solutions.
Use infrastructure-as-code to automate and govern infrastructure requirements.
Closely collaborate with our development and operations teams to ensure high availability of our applications.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis activities.
Maintain and improve a comprehensive documentation library for developers such as get-started guides, API references, tutorials, etc.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer or a similar role.
Experience working in various DevOps areas such as CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability (monitoring/logging/tracing), configuration management, and application testing as well as experience with tools.
Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS).
Experience with IaC & configuration management tools (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, etc.) is required.
Experience with automation of Application testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of SRE principles including SLO, SLI, KPI, Metrics, logging, tracing, etc.
Experience with containerized and serverless compute technology (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Lambda, etc.).
Proficient in writing scripts (Bash, PowerShell) and programming in one or more languages (Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, or similar).
1 or more DevOps or cloud-related certifications.
Highly self-motivated, highly available, and driven to exceed colleague expectations.
Ability to think critically and logically under pressure.
Strong technical experience with proven history of troubleshooting complex, cross-segment, cross-office, and cross-team problems.
Demonstrates the organization’s core values.
