We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator/Engineer to join our Technology Services Group (TSG) - Mainframe team . This role is preferred to be located in Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburgh, PA via hybrid in office work arrangement. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: The Mainframe Db2 Database Administrator/Engineer is responsible for administration, and evangelizing the culture, practices, processes, and tools that enable the business in the delivery of optimal services of Database development & maintenance - modernization/migration, and support/operation; with managing the administration of z/OS Db2 databases including backups, statistics, reorgs, physical database design, and supporting application development and applications. Perform z/OS Db2 database administration duties including problem resolution, SQL and database performance tuning, backups and recoveries, and disaster contingency testing. Contributing to continuous improvements within the team in developing reports/tools to help manage and optimize the environments. Support the investigating, analyzing, and resolving database incidents including performance bottlenecks and production batch incidents. To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: College/Technical Degree with 8-10 years’ technical experience with increasing responsibilities and knowledge and expertise. Knowing mainframe Db2 operational and processing perspectives with distributed WEB access, SQL performance and tuning, and Db2 operational problem determination skills. Minimum 5 years of IBM Db2 Database Administrative Experience, knowing mainframe technologies to be able to assist application developers in exploiting new Db2 features and functionality to increase business value and modernize database platform and processing. Considerable knowledge and ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex business and technical problems. Advanced technical knowledge of Db2 – SQL, Performance Management and Utilities for z/OS along with mainframe related tools such as BMC, Online performance monitoring tools, ISPF, SMS Strong execution mind-set to perform, manage and track progress against transformational goals Works collaborative with other team and application developers and exhibit strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; proven problem-solving skills; technical problem-solving skills and analytical skills; ability to prepare correspondence, position papers and documentation.
