BLS - Basic Life Support (required) Job Requirements
Must have 2 years of MedSurg experience. Must have EPIC experience. Must be able to read and interpret tele. Must be willing to take students, may be precept new travelers. Schedule Information
12 hours 7-730. Scheduler will schedule travelers- no block scheduling. 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period- travelers are utilized to fill in gaps. If there is a holiday need. Unit Specific Information
Unit: MedSurg - 6th Floor 42 beds in the unit Common diagnoses: Respiratory, GI, medical non-surgical issues, behavioral health RN's not required to titrate drips Charge Nurse and an ADT nurse present during day shift Orientation: 3 days of general orientation including EPIC training and meeting with educator. 2 shifts on unit with a preceptor Additional Details
Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 occasional 1:6-very rarely happens Charge Nurse on each shift- very rarely takes patients Nurse aids/patient care techs available: 1:8 RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP-RT manages, high flow Virtual Tele techs Float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and a 9 bed overflow unit Could also float to ER for holds or to be a 1:1 Any color scrubs, must be clean and professional Radius rule of 50 miles for the facility
