Job Summary

The Technology and Marketing Specialist will oversee the technology needs of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School, while developing and implementing marketing strategies that support the school’s growth and visibility. This role requires a balance of technical skills and marketing expertise to maintain a strong technology environment and promote the school’s mission and values effectively. The Technology and Marketing Specialist will work closely with school leadership to foster an engaging, tech-forward, and faith-aligned learning community. Key Responsibilities

Technology Management and Support

Oversee and maintain the school’s technology infrastructure, including computers, tablets, smart projectors, bells, cameras, VOIP phone system, and network equipment. Provide technical support to staff and students for hardware, software, and network issues. Manage network and Google Workspace user accounts. Ensure the functionality and security of classroom technology, including troubleshooting and setting up new equipment. Collaborate with the principal and administration to develop and implement technology policies that support educational goals.

Digital Learning and Integration

Support teachers in integrating technology into the classroom effectively, providing training on educational software and digital tools. Stay updated on trends in educational technology and recommend appropriate tools for enhancing teaching and learning.

Marketing and Communications

Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that promotes enrollment, showcases student achievements, and highlights school events. Create and distribute digital and print materials, including brochures, newsletters, flyers, and event announcements. Manage the school’s website, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the school’s mission. Contribute to an active and engaging social media presence to connect with the community and increase school visibility. Design and execute email campaigns targeting prospective families, alumni, donors, and the broader school community.

Content Creation and Branding

Develop content that promotes the school’s values, educational programs, and community activities. Coordinate photography, video production, and graphic design for promotional materials. Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all digital and print materials. Foster relationships with local media to enhance public relations efforts and raise awareness about school initiatives.

Event Planning and Promotion

Assist in planning and promoting school events, including open houses, fundraising events, and community gatherings. Coordinate event-related materials, media outreach, and communication to ensure successful promotion and execution.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in technology support and/or marketing, preferably in a school or educational environment. Skills:

Familiarity with social media platforms, website management (WordPress or similar), graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva), and email marketing tools. Knowledge of educational technology platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, LMS, SIS) and IT support practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and project management skills. Creativity and innovation in content creation and branding.

Personal Characteristics:

Ability to work collaboratively in a faith-based setting and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. High attention to detail and commitment to promoting the school’s values and mission. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and initiatives as needed.

Working Conditions

May require occasional evening or weekend hours, especially during school events or technology maintenance periods. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and set up technology equipment occasionally and manage light maintenance tasks.
